Wilderness Experience was launched in Chatsworth, California in 1973 at a 1000 square foot shop with only 1 sewing machine.  Jim Thomsen, the founder used his mountaineering guide service experience and knowledge working together with his younger brother Greg who went to the wilderness around-the world trips started manufacturing high quality outdoor equipment.  The brand name Wilderness Experience was given on Greg’s Wilderness Experience.

 

Nowadays, all the Wilderness Experience product are "Made in Japan" with superior quality materials such as Cordura fabric, Vegetable Tanned Leather, YKK Zip, Duraflex hardware…etc.
